Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar emphasised the need for both countries to launch joint counter-terrorism efforts. Asserting that India and China should make special efforts in the field of counter-terrorism, the Foreign Secretary said that New Delhi hopes China will further implement its strong and principled position on counter-terrorism. "China has a very strong, principled position on counter-terrorism. We hope the position China already has will be further implemented," he said. Jaishankar is in Beijing to co-chair the India-China Strategic Dialogue that begins today. During the event, the two countries are expected to discuss bilateral ties and disputes.
